Astro Corner supports both lightweight following and mutual friendship so you can choose the relationship that fits how you know another astronomer.
Discover people
Use People and Explore to find discoverable member profiles. Profiles can show astronomy interests, public biography, favourite objects, activity and other details the member has chosen to share.
People to Discover avoids filling the suggestion area with accounts you already follow or have as friends.
Follow someone
Following is one-way. It is useful when you want to keep up with a member’s visible astronomy posts without requiring them to follow you back.
Feed filters can focus on followed accounts when you want a quieter view of people you deliberately chose.
Become friends
Friendship is mutual. Send a friend request from an eligible profile, then use Connections to see incoming requests, outgoing requests and your current friends.
Some privacy settings and sharing choices can use friendship as an audience boundary.
Blocking
Block is available when you need to prevent normal member-to-member interaction and discovery between two accounts. You can review and reverse your own blocks from Connections.
Blocking is stronger than simply unfollowing. If you only want to stop seeing someone in your followed feed, unfollowing is usually enough.
Shared-context discovery
People to Discover can explain useful common ground such as shared astronomy interests, disciplines, Communities or matching equipment. These labels are explanatory only; they do not create an engagement score or change chronological feeds.
Incoming friend-request counts appear beside Connections so relationship requests do not need to compete with unrelated general notifications.
